In 2007 SWAN received the "Shining Star" recognition from OFDC for assistance in funding programs in Kenya.

The Red Cross Mount Baker Chapter issued to SWAN's Executive Director, Terry Gifford, the "Good Neighbor" award in 2007 for relief assistance in the Skagit County Flood of 2006.

On Dec 6th, 2007 the Red Cross awarded SWAN's Executive Director, Terry Gifford, the "Spirit of the Red Cross" award for relief assistance in the Skagit County Flood of 2006 .
